Dedicated, Client-Driven Advocacy
I focus my practice on several areas of litigation: criminal defense, DUII defense, domestic violence crimes, and driving crimes. My expertise are in the areas of jury trials, motion practice, and negotiations. My trial experience and broad knowledge of evidentiary rules allow me to effectively work a case and litigate it to the best resolution for my clients.
Prior to forming my own firm I worked over a thousand cases at the Public Defender’s Office in Medford and in Grants Pass. It was my experience at the Public Defender’s Office that has given me the litigation and trial experience that make me confident in my ability to help you and your case.
Throughout my career I have tried approximately 50 cases to a jury; including dozens of DUII’s, domestic violence crimes, serious assault cases, sex offenses, and murder trials. Many of these cases I have obtained “not guilty” verdicts for my clients. In addition to the dozens of “not guilty” verdicts I have obtained, I have also successfully argued hundreds of motions and sentencing hearings to a Judge. I know the Judges and many lawyers in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Douglas, and Curry counties.
I am a life-long Oregonian. I was born and raised in Gaston, OR, population 640. I inherited a dedicated and passionate work ethic from my parents and brother whom I remain close with. Throughout high school I participated in football and basketball and worked on my family’s blueberry farm. Before attending law school I earned my degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene. In addition to practicing law, I am a passionate cook and gardener, I read often, and I enjoy spending my evenings with my family and friends.
I believe you will find me a pleasure to work with. I will dedicate my time to fighting for you.
