Expungements

Expungement Attorney

Just because you have been charged or convicted of a crime does not mean you will carry with you a criminal record for the rest of your life. Most crimes are eligible for expungement, meaning they can be removed from your record and should not be visible on any background check. Oregon’s expungement law was recently changed in Oregon and it is now easier than ever to have your record expunged.

Criminal Records Can Be Expunged

If you have a conviction or arrest that you want to expunge from your record, you should contact me. I will analyze your specific case and criminal history and tell you definitively whether or not your conviction can be expunged. Additionally, I can submit the proper paperwork to accomplish your goal of expunging your criminal history.

Here are a few general rules:
  • Most misdemeanors can be expunged in one to three years.
  • C felonies can be expunged in five years.
  • B felonies can be expunged in seven years.
  • Any case that was dismissed can be expunged immediately.
  • Driving crimes cannot be expunged.
  • The majority of sex crimes cannot be expunged.

Even if your case cannot be expunged, there are still several tools that exist that I can use to either vacate a conviction off of your record, or get your firearm rights back.
